Powers/Abilities:
Tear is a Seventh Fonist, and a descendant of Yulia Jue (the mother of the Score). Game jargon aside, the seventh fonon is essentially the element of “sound”, and it’s used in Tear’s game to do a variety of things. One can use it to read the future (which is how Yulia created the Score), to heal others, and even to weaponize songs in battle.
Tear is both a melodist as well as a healer, meaning she can use the seventh fonon in two ways. Primarily, Tear uses it to heal and has a variety of healing abilities, even being able to heal to an extent without necessarily needing to cast an arte (for example: healing wilted flowers as a child).
She is mostly geared towards healing groups of people, rather than just one person (the forte of the other party healer), but she does have a few single-target heals and can even resurrect* fallen allies. Tear also has abilities that can partially invoke elemental properties to an ally’s attack. She doesn’t really grant buffs otherwise though (again, the forte of the other healer).
As Yulia’s descendant, Tear is one of two people in her world who can use Yulia’s Fonic Hymns: powerful songs that, when the user understands the symbolism and meaning, can be utilized to create powerful spells. They can be heard HERE.
There are 6 able to be used for combat purposes in total:
♪ Nightmare: Makes the listeners fall asleep. Tear has used this to put an entire castle and all of its servants to sleep, repeating this many times again to large groups throughout the game. In the battle mech, Nightmare does not always cause the sleep effect and it causes damage to the enemy.
"O melody beckoning towards the abyss" (Tue rei ze croa rui tue ze)
♪ Force Field: This creates an impenetrable force field, that has kept her allies safe through natural disasters. In the battle mech, this only lasts 5 seconds — but in the cutscenes it lasts for much longer (seemingly up to Tear’s strength at the moment).
"O tune of unyielding protection" (Croa riou ze tue riou rei neu riou ze)
♪ Holy Song: Heals 20% of ally HP, and gives 10% stat buff to their attack and defence.
"O magnificent song of angels" (Va rei ze tue neu tue riou tue croa)
♪ Revitalize: Heals 65% of party’s HP, in pulses of 13% for the duration of the spell.
"O healing melody of divine mercy" (Riou rei croa riou ze rei va ze rei)
♪ Judgement: blasts powerful beams of light down from the sky to attack the enemy. it can be dodged, and they fall haphazardly on the field.
"O violent strains that render demons to ashes" (Va neu va rei va neu va ze rei)
♪ Grand Cross: basically crucifies the enemy with a cross made of light? will leave them stunned after and gives an ally the chance to infuse their next attack with the element of light.
"O celestial choir, the light of redemption" (Croa riou croa neu tue rei croa riou ze rei va)
When combined with the 7th hymn, all of them together make the Grand Fonic Hymn, which is said to be proof of the pact between Yulia and Lorelei (personification of the element of Sound). It has the potential to summon him, if a weapon called the Key of Lorelei is present. (Rei va neu croa tue rei rei). In other games, the 7th hymn can be weaponized.
Tear is also able to shoot balls of light from her staff, rather than using it to hit people, and is skilled in using throwing knives. Many of her artes involve the element of light, or her knives.
* Resurrection would only be able to bring someone back from falling unconscious. It would not be able to stop death, and is not able to do so in canon: there are various scenes where Tear cannot help someone who is dying in front of the group. As a result, it will only work on you if you've been knocked out and may help a little if someone is perhaps in some kind of coma.

Job History:
Officer Candidate of the Oracle Military Academy
age: 13-14. as a child, tear was determined to enlist in the oracle knights in order to be closer to her brother. she was tutored by one of the Majors, a god-general, who would come to visit her in her home town of yulia city -- beneath the crust of their world, auldrant. she underwent harsh military training which aimed to shape her into a proficient soldier that is "ready for anything". during this time she went from being a rebellious, emotional, and head-strong child to a more level-headed soldier. eventually, she was able to continue her training in daath at the headquarter's of the oracle knights and the order of lorelei. upon graduation, tear made the request to be placed beneath grand maestro mohs rather than her brother, resolving to work against (and potentially kill) her sibling.responsibilities: learning hand to hand combat, learning to use throwing knives, learning to harness her ability with the seventh fonon to heal or attack.
skills: emotional regulation, time management, diligence, rigor, physical fitness. tear had a 'single-minded' determination to achieve her goals, and wouldn't stop until she achieved them.
Locrian Sergeant:
age: 15-16 Tear quickly gets promoted from being a commissioned officer of grand maestro moh's first intelligence division to serving as this division's Locrian Sergeant. She is given a special mission to search for a missing fonstone (where the future/score is written), and is able to leave the confines of yulia city/daath in order to go on this search. she uses this as an opportunity to find and kill her brother -- starting the events of the entire main canon.responsibilities: attaining information without rousing suspicion, gathering clues, reporting back to the grand maestro with discoveries

Easygoing Waitress:
age: 15-16 tear has worked for the restaurant in keterburg, filling orders. while it isn't her main occupation, she is noted to be very good at it, remembering complicated orders with ease.responsibilities: remembering orders and delivering them in a timely manner, being personable with clients.
skills: having a good memory, being cool under pressure, being able to keep customer satisfaction up to par.
Fonic Theory Teacher:
age: 15-16 Tear takes it upon herself to teach Luke fonon theory and how to control his ability with the Seventh Fonon. she does this by making him take lessons with her throughout the main storyline as a side quest, where she instructs him on how to do artes and what a 'fonon' means, etc. in actuality, tear provides the majority of the tutorials and explanations throughout the canon.responsibilities: teaching luke, who knows absolutely nothing about fonons and the world, everything he needs to be prepared for fighting and interacting with fonons.
skills: patience, how to communicate information in simpler/various ways, crisis prevention intervention.
Representative of Yulia City (headcanon)
age: 16 due to her close ties with various political figures across auldrant, including royalty, tear was suggested to become the representative for the newly-discovered yulia city. as its representative, she works with other ambassadors and political figures in making decisions about the state of the world going forwards -- in addition to imparting some of the knowledge and ways kept secret in the underground city. she does this with her grandfather's assistance.responsibilities: attending meetings, dealing with a wide array of powerful and influential individuals, making decisions on behalf of the city's people, reforming the order.
skills: diplomacy, time management, conflict-resolution, problem-solving.
Suppressions:
emotions: tear has a penchant for pushing her emotions well below the surface, even blatantly refusing to acknowledge them sometimes. she sees this as the logical approach, and views emotions as often getting in the way of things ... but it takes a toll on her, not to mention on her friendships sometimes (as she tends to hide a lot and some may view this as her distrusting them).
inability to ask for help: perhaps because of her interesting family dynamic, tear often refuses to ask others for help -- even when she's in dire need of it. she would sooner hide her problems, then even ask for advice, and is somewhat stubborn about keeping her needs concealed.
coping with loss: tear, because of the things listed above, is very bad at coping with loss. when she thought her brother died (the first time they tried to kill him), she spent a lot of time at a grave she'd erected for him "speaking" with him. while she doesn't believe in the score or the order's teachings, she's still a somewhat spiritual person and chooses to engage with her loss in this way. which may or may not be seen as healthy? but she struggles to be completely without their presence and move on entirely. in this way, she's still very much a child at her core.
awkwardness: tear is very limited in her emotional understanding of the world around her. while this gets better throughout the game, she is still prone to social awkwardness and longs to be a more natural communicator -- to, in some ways, be a more warm person.
loss of direction: (headcanon) now that her brother is dead and luke is gone, tear is struggling to find a sense of direction for herself. up until now she'd single-mindedly focused on killing her sibling, on teaching and protecting luke, and now? she doesn't really have much to go by or do. finding a new purpose, and dealing with the fact that she doesn't yet have one, is something she deeply struggles with.
Greatest Fear: Needing to take the life of another loved one, after doing so with her former teacher (Legretta) and brother.
Greatest Desire: For Luke to return to her.
Greatest Regret: Tear doesn't often care to regret things, and prefers to simply face her mistakes and move forwards with them. However, that said, her greatest regret (which she holds deep down), may be not having told Luke her feelings for him directly. She had whispered that she'd loved him before he disappeared, with her back to him, and he'd made no indication to have heard her at all. right til the end, she was never able to be direct or openly honest about her feelings.
