Erin, not done on her morning gift giving spree after Eddie, leaves and returns with something bundled in a towel. This she sets on Tear's table before opening the bundle to reveal a carving of a singing mockingbird perched delicately on a branch.

"It's a mockingbird," Erin says softly. "They learn the cries and songs of other beasts and make their own music from it, and teach it to their children. Mockingbirds remember the voices of creatures long dead, whom all others have forgotten. Merry Christmas, Tear."
